Atlanta Open Band
This is an open band focused on playing waltz tunes. We are open to all musicians interested in playing traditional music. Bring an instrument, at any skill level, and jump in. We play for the joy of community, not perfection.
Our culture is relaxed, inclusive, and supportive. The goal is to have fun playing music together, grow as a musician, and enjoy the camaraderie—whether you're brand-new or experienced. All that matters is your willingness to play.
History
The AOB group was led by Bob Kirkman for many years. Bob K. served as a tenacious leader educating and leading the band. He set up a solid group that continues to play and be grateful for his time and energy.
Practices
- September 21 - practice from 4-6pm TENTATIVE, plan to decide at 9/14 practice [there may be a schedule conflict and not sure how many are affected]
- September 28 - practice from 4-6pm
- October 5 - practice from 4-6pm
- October 19 - practice from 4-6pm
- November 2 - practice from 4-6 pm
