We encourage folks to eat locally (restaurants 5 min from the folk school) and to bring your own food to eat. There are kitchens available for cooking and food storage.
We are working on catering onsite and will update here with details as it gets closer so you can plan.
A fun idea: We heard of this concept of "food jams" where instead of music, people bring ingredients and ideas to cook and share food with one another. It's potluck style meals, and everyone contributes ingredients. Its a fun to share meals and recipes.

If you have any questions regarding accommodations, please email waltzforjoy@gmail.com. You should have already indicated your preferred lodging option on your registration form. The address for the dance hall, camping, and bunkhouses is: The Appalachian Folk School, 3142 Divide Rd. Mountain City, TN 37683.
Hydrate: It's best to start hydrating at least an hour before you start dancing. This is the #1 way to avoid getting dizzy, and it will help you stay hydrated the whole time. We will have water stations, and we encourage you to bring your own water bottles.
Rest up: Dancing for an entire weekend can be physically demanding, so make sure to get plenty of rest beforehand to avoid exhaustion. During the Dawn Dance, there will be designated areas where you can lay down and rest as needed. We encourage everyone to pace themselves and take breaks whenever necessary to ensure you can fully enjoy the experience.
